Even more Smewtiful

Another nice day found the Smew upstream of the bridge and hard to photograph. Its chosen companion today was a Little Egret whose new plumes seemed terribly itchy.

Back to the serious business of fishing.

The Smew moves in to watch

and tries out this lazy approach to lunch

The Smew wasn't getting any bites and fell asleep, and the Egret's only bites seemed to be coming from midges.

The Egret seemed to polite to ask the Smew to move and just sat and watched her for about five minutes before shuffling off.
